Gallivanter: A morning at Irene Village Market

The Irene Village Market is an art market on the shady grounds of the Smuts House Museum occurring every second Saturday, about 40 kilometres north of Johannesburg.
Held on the second and last Saturday of every month, the market offers ample guarded parking, safe kids’ entertainment, a fully-licensed tea garden, numerous food stalls and over 300 exhibits with wares ranging from art and craft to clothing, delicacies, antiques, flowers and curio. Only original art and craft are traded at the Irene Village Market. Exhibitors and their wares undergo a strict selection process. Be sure to come through and experience a rustic and enthralling market.

If you enjoy visiting village markets with high quality goods on sale, then Irene Market is the place to visit.

There are many stalls set up under beautiful trees  where an amazing range of goods are sold.                                     Stall holders are friendly and helpful.

There are activities for children which are well supervised.

Camel rides are enjoyed by youngsters

Many stalls to select goods from.

There are wonderful food stalls at the entrance to the market but seating is very limited there. You can enjoy tea or a meal at the restaurant  under enormous, shady trees while listening to various artists singing or playing instruments. This group of people are being entertained by a Jazz Duet.

Be sure to plan a visit to Irene Market. As Valentines Day and Easter draw near you will find the perfect gifts within your budget as there is a huge variety to choose from. Overseas visitors enjoy visiting this market.

Many people visit the market on a regular basis to buy home made biscuits, rusks, cakes, breads, cheeses, sauces and pickles etc. as well as plants for their gardens. Be sure to get there early if you wish to purchase foodstuffs as they sell out quickly.
The market usually opens at 8:30 and closes at 14:00 , so head out that way to be there early and avoid the traffic that builds up in that area.

Poet, Speaker, God's child; Nothing changes if NOTHING changes

I have tried to download pictures plus other entries, but I am having a problem with all pictures.
Until I sort things out I need to add this post as it cannot wait.

Nothing changes if NOTHING changes

That Bible can’t be read
if you don’t know where it is
You can’t do what God requires
if you don’t know what He said.

You cannot lose that weight
if you carry on as before
You can’t change a relationship
if you don’t talk anymore.

You can’t get stronger
if your weakness is crippling you
But you can change that weakness
by what you’re going to do!

You have to make the changes
you’re the only one who can,
and if you fail and make mistakes
then get up and start again.

You cannot blame another
for failures in your life,
The choices that you make
often lead to your strife.

Jesus is there for you
He’s waiting for your call,
He wants to be your saviour
before another fall.

So call on Him,
let go of pride
and listen for His voice,
whether you rely on Him
is totally your choice!

I guess that by now most of you have formulated your New Year’s Resolutions, so, has anything changed yet? If the changes have not started yet then you will get to where you’re aiming.......
Nowhere! Sit down and formulate your plans, set targets and start moving towards those goals.

Have a wonderful 2014 and do your best to make it the one you had planned on!
